Staff Spotlight
So tell us Helena, why did you choose to study the Certificate in Professional Marketing qualification CIM?
I joined the Engine Department in November 2010 and part of my role was to assist the marketing team with various projects, such as the Kawasaki Engines website. It soon became apparent to me that marketing was an area I really enjoy and wanted to gain more of an understanding, so I decided to gain a qualification with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
My first hurdle was ‘learning how to learn’ which was hard seeing as I had not studied for many years, but once I established my learning style it gave me a huge insight into the world of marketing, especially B2B and understanding customer expectations and the importance of fulfilling their needs.
Achieving this qualification, and working with the marketing team, has helped me to gain a better understanding of the many different aspects of marketing. Such as, how internal communications can be used to help customers and using external feedback to deliver what the customer wants with everything they need when they need it. Also the importance of social media and how we can use this platform to communicate with our Distributors, OEMs and end users to promote the Kawasaki Engines brand and create differentiation in the market.
What do you like about working for Kawasaki Engines?
Kawasaki as a Global Manufacturer has an excellent brand reputation and I enjoy my job because I get to add to the brand value by working for Kawasaki Engines. Every day is different with various challenges which I like because I enjoy getting my teeth into a project and seeing the end result which gives me great satisfaction.
