Multi-stage canister air filters
Both our single and dual stage canister air filters use cyclonic air flow to force debris out, improving performance. Fine particles are filtered through a paper element, while the dual stage adds a fine particle dust filter.
Heavy duty shift type starter
Designed to withstand the most intense workloads, this pre-engaged solenoid starter system guarantees quick and reliable starting – so your time is spent working, not waiting.

Heavy-duty oil pump
Engine life is extended and internal components protected by a heavy duty oil pump, which circulates engine oil under pressure to lubricate the components and assist with engine cooling.
Integrated clean out ports
Our FX engines have been designed with easy access clean-out ports, located under the engine housing, that give a clear view of the cylinder’s cooling system, allowing for quick inspections and simple cleaning.
High performance lubrication system
Twin oil feeds provide high-pressure lubrication and cooling to the crankshaft and connecting rod bearing surfaces, reducing friction and preventing the wear of components.
Cast iron cylinder liners
The high-speed sliding of piston rings inside an engine cylinder causes high temperatures, high pressure and abrasion. Cast iron is a material highly resistant to these conditions.
Rotating grass screen
A rotating metal screen chops larger cuttings into fine debris, preventing grass build-up on the cooling fins. This protects engine cooling for reliable performance, keeping your engine running efficiently.
Automatic compression release
Automatic compression release relieves initial cylinder pressure to make starts easy and reliable, regardless of temperature.
High-efficiency oil cooler*
Cooling fins designed for optimal heat radiation are fitted to the engine housing of our larger models to keep the oil and engine at the correct operating temperature. *FX751V to FX1000V models.
Three valves per cylinder*
The inclusion of three valves per cylinder allows for a higher concentration of air and fuel to reach the combustion chamber, helping to provide increased power for our larger models. *FX921V and FX1000V models.
Internally vented carburetor with fuel shut-off solenoid
The carburetor is vented internally to keep your engine efficient with reduced contaminants, while the fuel shut-off solenoid ensures smoother operation.
